2,3'-Difluorobenzophenone is a multifunctional chemical that can be used as a solvent and a polymerization agent. It is also an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals. 2,3'-Difluorobenzophenone is soluble in ethers, carbonates, and phenols. This compound reacts with sodium hydroxide to form a basic solution or with carbon dioxide to produce carbonate esters and phenol compounds. 2,3'-Difluorobenzophenone has been used in the synthesis of polymers and photoconductive materials.
