(T-4)-Difluorodioxo-Uranium is a form of uranium that has been irradiated with hydrogen fluoride to produce the fluorine-containing (T-4) uranium. This compound is a gas at room temperature and pressure, but is able to be condensed into a liquid or solid. The (T-4) uranium typically has high values for activation energies, which are indicative of the strength of the chemical bonds and the stability of the molecule. The phase transition temperature for this compound is around -80°C, which means that it will remain in its gaseous form until cooled below this temperature. Radiation can cause reactions to occur on this substance such as protonation and deprotonation, which can lead to changes in its molecular structure. The proximal tubules are one of the most sensitive regions of the kidney when exposed to fluoride and uranyl compounds, making them vulnerable to renal damage from exposure to these substances.
