4-Difluoromethoxybenzoyl chloride is an acid chloride that is used as a reagent in organic chemistry. It can be prepared by the reaction of ethyl acetate, formamide and thionyl chloride. This compound is used for the preparation of benzoyl chlorides. 4-Difluoromethoxybenzoyl chloride is also used to make other organic compounds, such as difluorobenzene and benzoic acid. The reaction takes place in a vessel with condensation and heating. The product has a high yield when compared to other methods of synthesis, such as those involving benzene and benzoic acid.
