1,2-Dipalmitoylphosphatidylfluorouridine is a drug that has been shown to be effective at treating inflammatory diseases. It is an uronic acid and may have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit the release of proinflammatory cytokines. 1,2-Dipalmitoylphosphatidylfluorouridine is taken orally and it enters the blood stream through the intestinal tract. Pharmacokinetic studies have shown that this drug has a high uptake in tissues such as liver, heart, lungs, spleen, kidneys and bone marrow.
