2',3'-Difluoro-4-Biphenylcarboxylic Acid is a nucleoside analogue antiretroviral drug that has been shown to be active against HIV-1. It has been found to be effective in treating HIV-1-infected patients when used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs. 2',3'-Difluoro-4-Biphenylcarboxylic Acid inhibits the viral reverse transcriptase enzyme and prevents the production of viral DNA, which is necessary for viral replication. This drug also has antiviral effects by inhibiting the protease enzymes that are responsible for cleaving proteins into smaller parts, preventing new virus particles from being produced.
