3,4-Dichloro-1-(Pentafluorophenyl)-1H-Pyrrole-2,5-Dione is a fluorescent molecule that belongs to the class of betaines. It has been shown to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules and is soluble in organic solvents. The photophysical properties of 3,4-Dichloro-1-(Pentafluorophenyl)-1H-Pyrrole-2,5-Dione have been studied in both the solid and liquid states. Fluorescence was observed in the solid state with an emission maximum at 540 nm. Cyclic voltammetry showed that 3,4-Dichloro-1-(Pentafluorophenyl)-1H-Pyrrole-2,5-Dione can be oxidized by chlorine ions.
