Diphenyl(trifluoromethyl)sulfonium trifluoromethanesulfonate is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have affinity for the opioid receptor. This compound is also thermally stable and recrystallizes easily, making it amenable to preparative scale synthesis. The pharmacophore of this compound is based on an orexigenic endogenous molecule, which has been shown to produce weight gain in animal models.
