2,3-Dimethoxy-5-iodo-N-((1-(4'-fluorobenzyl)-2-pyrrolidinyl)methyl)benzamide is a terpenoid that has been shown to have uptake into the rat brain, with localized expression in the striata. It is a potent dopamine D3 receptor agonist, with some selectivity for the dopamine D2 receptor. 2,3-Dimethoxy-5-iodo-N-((1-(4'-fluorobenzyl)-2-pyrrolidinyl)methyl)benzamide has been shown to inhibit dopamine release and turnover in rat striatal tissue. This compound binds to the dopamine D3 receptors located on the surface of neurons and inhibits dopamine release from presynaptic terminals.
