Albendazole is an antibiotic that belongs to the group of albendazole-2-aminosulfoxide. It is a natural product and can be found in plants and animals. The chemical structure of albendazole is similar to that of benzimidazoles, which are used as chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of cancer.
