It is a fluorine atom, which has been shown to be an oxidase inhibitor that inhibits the metabolism of other drugs. The compound has been shown to be active against intestinal bacteria in animals and humans, but it is not effective against gram negative bacteria such as E. coli. Ethyl 2-[2-Chloro-4-Fluoro-5-[5-Methyl-6-Oxo-4-(Trifluoromethyl)Pyridazin1 -Yl]Phenoxy]Acetate has also been shown to have some activity as a pesticide against insects, especially houseflies.
