2-Ethoxy-4,6-dihydroxypyrimidine is a monosodium salt of 2-ethoxy-4,6-dihydroxypyrimidine. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and pesticides. The yield varies depending on reaction time and temperature. In addition, it has been shown that alkali metals can be used to catalyze the reaction between malonate and malonic acid, which are its precursors.
