[2-(Ethylthio)ethyl]amine is a palladium complex that has been studied for its biological and cancer chemotherapeutic properties. It has been shown to be an irreversible oxidative agent, which can cause cellular damage by reacting with metal ions in the cell. This compound also binds to copper and copper-containing compounds, such as the copper found in cancer stem cells. The [2-(Ethylthio)ethyl]amine molecule is a bidentate ligand that contains two nitrogen atoms and can be used as a homogeneous catalyst for metal carbonyls.
