Ethyl (4-nitrophenyl)carbamate is a chemical compound that is used in the synthesis of α-tocopherol. The product can be obtained by reacting ethyl 4-nitrophenylcarbamate with phosphite and yields plates. This reaction product can be obtained by benzimidazole compounds, which are formed in a stepwise manner. Ethyl (4-nitrophenyl)carbamate reacts with nitrate to form an orange precipitate, which is a regression product. The centralite intermediate is oxidized to form β-amyrin and peroxide.
