Ethyl4-chloroquinazoline-2-carboxylate is an organic compound with a molecular weight of 238.35 g/mol. It is a colorless liquid that reacts with water and alcohols, forming hydrochloric acid and the corresponding ester or ether respectively. Ethyl4-chloroquinazoline-2-carboxylate has been shown to react with carbanions in the form of ethylene glycol, yielding the corresponding quinazoline derivative. This compound also has pharmacomodulatory properties, which can be used in pharmaceutical research to modify the function of enzymes such as cholinesterase.
