Informação sobre produto
- Benzoic Acid, 4-(Acetylamino)-, Ethyl Ester
Ethyl 4-acetamidobenzoate is an ester that has been used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. It is an acetylating agent, which reacts with the hydroxyl group of a phenol or alcohol to form esters. This reaction is catalyzed by cytochrome P450 and can be done in the presence of hexane, acetyl chloride, or hydrogen chloride. The product of this reaction is ethyl 4-acetamidobenzoate hydrochloride. Ethyl 4-acetamidobenzoate hydrochloride has been used in pharmaceutical preparations as an analgesic agent and anesthetic. Chromatographic analysis of human serum has shown that it may also be a substrate for plasma esterases, but not for plasma esters such as benzocaine hydrochloride.
