2-Ethylaminoethanol (2-EE) is a non-volatile, colorless liquid that is soluble in water. 2-EE can be used to determine the thermal expansion of human serum and rat liver microsomes. It has been shown that the thermal expansion coefficient of 2-EE is related to the hydroxyl group and zirconium oxide. The kinetics of the reaction between 2-EE and anhydrous sodium have been studied experimentally by observing constant pressure data. The optimum pH for this reaction was found at 7.5, with a pKa of 9.45. Ethylene diamine reacts with 2-EE to form ethylenediamine, which can be used as an analytical method for determining blood groups A, B, AB and O.
