Descrição:cis-8,11,14-Eicosatrienoic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that is found in the body and has been shown to reduce body mass index. The biological effects of cis-8,11,14-Eicosatrienoic acid are mediated through the production of prostaglandin H1, which has been shown to be an anti-inflammatory agent. cis-8,11,14-Eicosatrienoic acid also reduces bowel disease by modulating calcium binding and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in experimental models. It was also observed that this compound inhibits the activity of rat liver microsomes. This inhibition may be due to its ability to act as an antioxidant and free radical scavenger.
