This drug binds to the benzodiazepine receptor and has shown potential for treating Alzheimer's disease, cancer, and other ailments. The enantiomer of this molecule has been shown to have anti-tumor effects in mice with breast cancer. 4-(2,3-Epoxypropoxy)carbazole also binds to the benzodiazepine receptor in the brain and blocks neurotransmitter release.
