Estradiol 3,17-divalerate is a crystalline steroid that is insoluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents. It has a melting point of about 200-202 °C. Estradiol 3,17-divalerate has a molecular weight of 342.45 daltons and an empirical formula of C24H32O3. It has been shown to be active against the prostate gland in rats and rabbits, but not against the ovaries or uterus. Estradiol 3,17-divalerate exhibits polymorphism with two crystalline forms: form I (monoclinic) and form II (trigonal).
