Ethylmethylsulfone has been shown to have high antibacterial activity against wild-type strains as well as bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics such as penicillin, erythromycin, and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). In addition, this compound has been found to be effective against kidney bean bacteria.
