• Descrição: Ethyl 2-chloronicotinate is a cytotoxic agent that has been shown to induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. It has also been found to be active against cervical cancer cells, hepg2 cell, and nmr spectra. This chemical is synthesized by reacting methyl anthranilate with diisopropylamine in the presence of an acid catalyst. The biological studies performed on this compound have shown that it possesses anti-inflammatory properties and significant cytotoxicity. Ethyl 2-chloronicotinate inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential and induces apoptosis through the activation of caspase 3.
