• Descrição: 2-Ethoxybenzhydrazide is a monomer that can be used to prepare heterodimers. 2-Ethoxybenzhydrazide is irradiated with ultraviolet light or electron beam and the resulting photoinduced or thermal reaction yields a monomeric or dimeric hydrazone. The heterodimer can then be prepared by reacting the monomers in chloroform. Various techniques can be used to study the interactions of these molecules, including ultrasonic techniques, which are often used to study hydrazides and benzene derivatives. This drug has a number of uses as an intermediate in the synthesis of diimidazole and diimide, which are agents that inhibit fungal growth. It also has been used in the synthesis of some hydrazines and naphthalenes.
