Ethanediamine dihydroiodide (EDDI) is a glycol ether that has been used in transfection experiments with nanoparticulate compositions. EDDI is soluble in water and can be used as a phase transition temperature agent for polymers. EDDI has been shown to have biological properties and toxicity studies, as well as wastewater treatment applications. It also has the ability to form coordination complexes with metal ions such as sodium, which may be due to its electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and x-ray crystal structures. EDDI has clinical pathology applications and x-ray diffraction data.
