Informação sobre produto
8-Ethoxyquinoline-5-sulfonic acid sodium salt (EQS) inhibits the HIV virus by binding to the viral protein gp120. It is a prodrug that undergoes a series of reactions in vivo, including hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase, or conjugation with glucuronic acid. EQS also has been shown to inhibit the production of growth factors and to cause changes in cell morphology, such as adhesions. The drug has been shown to prevent symptoms related to lacrimal gland inflammation and adhesion formation.
