Erichrome blue black B is a palladium complex with a carbonyl group and low energy absorber. It is used in coatings, such as the coating of the inside of nuclear reactors, to absorb radiation from low-energy particles. The fluorescence of Erichrome blue black B is sensitive to changes in pH, which makes it useful for wastewater treatment. The reactive properties of Erichrome blue black B make it useful for polymer film and optical properties that are used in aluminium production.
