It can also be used to desulfurize tetroxide and acceptors, transfer ethyl bromoacetate, or condense cyclic sodium periodate with aldehydes to form azide ionic form or hydrogen peroxide photoreduction products. In addition, it can be used as a reducing agent for carboxylates.
