Eleutheroside D is a saponin that belongs to the genus Acanthopanax. It has been shown to be effective in treating bone cancer and skin conditions such as psoriasis. Eleutheroside D has also been shown to have anticarcinogenic effects and is currently being studied for its possible use in chemotherapy. This compound may also be useful in preventing or reducing the side effects of radiation therapy. Eleutheroside D has been studied extensively and found to have no significant toxicity, even at high doses. It is not known what the mechanism of action is, but it may be due to pentacosanoic acid, which inhibits the growth of cells by binding to DNA and inhibiting protein synthesis. Additional studies are needed to determine whether eleutheroside D can be used as an anticancer drug.
