Descrição:Ethanesulfonic acid is a free radical scavenger that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It also has the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation and prevent the formation of reactive oxygen species in biological samples. Ethanesulfonic acid is used as a solvent for liposomal formulations, which are drugs enclosed in a phospholipid film. Liposomal formulations have been shown to be useful for the treatment of bowel diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease. Ethanesulfonic acid may also be used in treating autoimmune diseases, cancer, influenza virus, and guanine nucleotide-binding proteins.
