The lead compound of fluazifop methyl ester has been shown to have herbicidal activity in x-ray diffraction studies, which indicates that it may be able to target the non-chlorophyll containing parts of plants such as roots. Fluazifop methyl ester has been used as an ingredient in many herbicidal compositions and has been shown to be effective against a broad range of weed species.
