Descrição:5-fluoropyridin-3-ol is a metabotropic glutamate receptor antagonist that is structurally related to the neurotransmitter dopamine. In vitro assays have shown this drug binds to the metabotropic glutamate receptor and blocks the binding of glutamate, preventing activation of the receptor. 5-fluoropyridin-3-ol has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties similar to those of its parent compound, LY354740. It also has ancillary effects on dopamine receptors. 5-fluoropyridin-3-ol is not active against chloride ion channels or N-methyl d-aspartate glutamate receptors.
