5-Fluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)aniline is a fluorine containing compound that has been used as a synthon for the synthesis of palladium complexes. It is also a supramolecular ligand that binds to metal ions and plays an important role in molecular self-assembly. 5-Fluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)aniline is an electronegative molecule, which means it has a strong pull on electrons. The electron withdrawing property of 5-fluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)aniline enables it to act as catalytic and nucleating agent. This chemical can be found in two isomeric forms: cis and trans.
