2-Fluorophenylboronic acid is a molecule that has two fluorine atoms attached to a boron atom. It is used in the synthesis of many organic compounds, including dopamine, 2-fluoroaniline, and 2-fluoroethanol. 2-Fluorophenylboronic acid can be synthesized by the cross-coupling reaction of phenyl boronic acid with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of copper or palladium catalyst. The molecule is also reversible and covalent, meaning that it can form hydrogen bonds with other molecules.
2-Fluorophenylboronic acid has been shown to react with light emission to produce fluorescence. This product may be toxic if ingested in large amounts.
