2-Formylphenylboronic acid is a model system for the synthesis of natural products that have been studied extensively in academia. This compound is an enantiopure compound and can be used to study the reaction of palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions, intramolecular hydrogen bonding, and covalent linkages. 2-Formylphenylboronic acid has been used as a starting material in asymmetric syntheses. It has also been used as a fluorescence probe for amines and monoamine neurotransmitters. 2-Formylphenylboronic acid can inhibit enzymes such as glycol ester hydrolase and cyclooxygenase-2, which are involved in inflammatory responses.
