2-(2-Fluorophenyl)acetohydrazide is a carbohydrate that can inhibit the activity of α-amylase, an enzyme involved in the breakdown of polysaccharides. It is also able to modulate the activity of other enzymes such as α-glucosidase and α-galactosidase. The phenyl groups in 2-(2-fluorophenyl)acetohydrazide are thought to be responsible for its high inhibition potential. The hydroxide solution (NaOH) has been shown to damage the crystals of 2-(2-fluorophenyl)acetohydrazide, which causes a change in its diffraction profile. This compound has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit collagen degradation by chondrocytes.
