2-Fluoro-4-biphenylacetic acid is a metabolite of 2-arachidonoylglycerol, an endocannabinoid. It has been shown to be a potent allosteric modulator of the cannabinoid type 1 receptor. 2-Fluoro-4-biphenylacetic acid has been found to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus through its antimicrobial activity. In addition, this compound inhibits human liver cells by inhibiting protein synthesis and arresting cell cycle progression at G2/M phase.
