4-Formyl antipyrine is a compound with the chemical formula CHNO. It has a molecular weight of 146.188 g/mol and it is soluble in water, ethanol and ether. The compound can be found in the form of an orange-red solid. 4-Formyl antipyrine is an intermolecular hydrogen-bonding agent that can be used as a palladium catalyst for organic reactions such as cyclization, oxidation, reduction, nitration, and chlorination. This compound was discovered by structural studies of phenacyl compounds. The structure of 4-formyl antipyrine is similar to that of nitrobenzene with the addition of a thione group. The reaction product with hydrochloric acid yields covid-19 pandemic which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
