Fmoc-D-Asp-OH is a methylene amino acid that is used in the synthesis of peptides and proteins. It has been shown to be an active methylene in tumor xenografts, which may be due to its ability to bind the 2-adrenergic receptor. Fmoc-D-Asp-OH also binds with high affinity to the 2-adrenergic receptor and exhibits chemoattractant protein activity. The detection sensitivity of Fmoc-D-Asp-OH has been shown to be high in vitro assays, as it can be detected at concentrations as low as 1 nM. This molecule is structurally related to covidin and has fluorescence properties that can be used for imaging purposes.
