Flugestone NA is an oestrogen that has been used to treat a variety of reproductive disorders in mares. It is a synthetic analogue of the hormone progesterone, which is secreted by the ovaries and placenta. Flugestone NA has been shown to stimulate ovulation and ovarian activity, as well as regulate estrus cycles and sexual behaviour. This drug has also been shown to have beneficial effects on metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance and obesity. Flugestone NA may be used for treatment of autoimmune diseases, as it inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines.
