- Trimethylsilylfuran
Furan-2-yl-triMethyl-silane is a synthetic compound that contains a carbonyl group and three methyl substituents. It reacts with dichlorocarbene to form a furyl compound in the presence of a phosphonium salt or silicon. Furan-2-yl-triMethyl-silane can also react with lithium species to form an alkyl compound, which can be irradiated to produce an alkylation product. The regiospecificity of this reaction depends on the type of alkyl group used. Furan-2-yl-triMethyl-silane has been used in the production of photosensitized polymerization reactions and photoelectron spectroscopy.
