Descrição:Ferumoxytol is used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to improve the quality of images. It is given intravenously and is excreted unchanged by the kidneys. Ferumoxytol has been shown to be safe and effective for diagnosing bowel disease, including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and diverticulitis. Ferumoxytol also has been shown to be useful in evaluating cardiac function before and after myocardial infarction. Ferumoxytol has a low toxicity profile with no significant adverse effects reported during clinical trials.
