Fmoc-6-aminohexanoic acid also inhibits the protease activity of subtilisin BPN' and leucine aminopeptidase, which are enzymes that break down proteins into smaller polypeptides. This material is functionalized with carboxyl groups on both ends, making it reactive and able to react with other molecules.
