Descrição:4-(4-Fluorophenylethynyl)phenol is a synthetic monomer that reacts with alkyne groups to form polymers. 4-(4-Fluorophenylethynyl)phenol is activated by the addition of azide and polymerized in the presence of triisopropylsilane. This technique can be used to synthesize acetylene-containing polymers, which are capable of absorbing infrared light. 4-(4-Fluorophenylethynyl)phenol has been shown to react with amides and polymers, forming amides and polymers containing functional groups.
