2-Fluoro-4-nitroaniline is a molecule that has been shown to have clinical studies in industrialized countries. It is a hydrophobic molecule, which means it does not dissolve in water. 2-Fluoro-4-nitroaniline binds to the 5HT receptor subtype with an energy of -1.89 eV and inhibits cancer cell proliferation by inhibiting the activation of 5HT receptors. The reaction mechanism for this drug involves the transfer of an electron from the hydrogen atom to the nitro group on the compound, which creates a radical cation (R+). This radical cation interacts with oxygen and forms a peroxyl radical, which reacts with nearby molecules and causes damage to them. The molecule is then broken down by enzymes called peroxidases.
