(Z)-1-Fluoro-1-Propene is a chemical compound that is a byproduct of the production of Covid-19. Covid-19 is an antiviral drug that was developed to combat the H1N1 pandemic. The (Z)-1-fluoro-1-propene can be accessed through a reaction with ethylene and hydrogen fluoride, which produces this product as well as other products like 2,2,3,4,4,5,5-heptafluoropentane and 1,2,3,4,4,-hexafluorobutane. The yield of (Z)-1-fluoro-1-propene ranges from 45% to 75%, depending on the conditions used in the experiment. Covid-19 has been shown to have a spectrum of activity against influenza A viruses which includes influenza A virus subtypes H5N1 and H7N9.
