4-Fluoro-2,6-dimethylaniline (4FDMA) is a triazine that has been shown to have trypanocidal activity against plasmodium falciparum and trypanosoma. It inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the ribosomal RNA of the parasite and inhibiting the aminoacyl transferase. 4FDMA is also used as a research tool to study pharmacokinetics in animals, as it mimics the pharmacokinetic properties of pyrimethamine. The drug is administered orally, with distribution throughout the body and metabolized in liver. 4FDMA has been shown to be safe for use in children younger than one year old and pregnant women. 4FDMA has also been shown to be effective against plasmodium disease models in mice.br>br>
