2-Fluoro-4-Propoxybenzoic Acid is a linker that is used in solid-phase peptide synthesis. It has been shown to be an efficient and economical coupling agent for the preparation of peptides. The linker has also been used in fluorine-monitoring experiments, where the fluorine atom was introduced at the α position of the coumarin ring. 2-Fluoro-4-propoxybenzoic acid has been optimised for use in solid phase synthesis by altering the substituent on the 2 position of the benzoic acid. It can be synthesized using a variety of methods, including coupling with DCC and DIC or via a Grignard reaction with ethylmagnesium bromide and propargyl alcohol.
