It has been shown to be a selenium-dependent vitamin E and yields results with methodology. This compound is an inhibitor of benzylic oxidation reactions, which can be used as a reagent in the oxidation of dibromide and dioxane. In addition, 1-{4-[(4-Fluorobenzyl)oxy]phenyl}ethanone can be used as a photocatalyst for benzaldehyde or benzophenone.
