2-Fluoro-4-formylbenzeneboronic acid is a synthetic boronic acid with anticancer activity. It binds to the receptor tyrosine kinase and inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interfering with the signal transduction pathway. 2-Fluoro-4-formylbenzeneboronic acid selectively inhibits the activity of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor tyrosine kinase, which is involved in many cellular functions, including proliferation and differentiation of cells. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as inhibit tumor formation in mice.
