• Descrição: Gallacetophenone-4-methyl ether is a synthetic drug used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It has been shown to inhibit beta-amyloid peptide aggregation and formation of amyloid plaques, which are deposits of proteins that lead to neuron death. Gallacetophenone-4-methyl ether is also a neuroprotective agent against glutamate toxicity. In vitro studies have shown that gallacetophenone-4-methyl ether can protect neuronal cells from degeneration and death by inhibiting glutamate release or by blocking glutamate receptors. This drug has an excellent safety profile, with no adverse effects observed in clinical trials.
