Informação sobre produto
Guanylin is a peptide hormone that is secreted in the small intestine. It has been shown to have wide distribution throughout the body and appears to be involved in a number of physiological processes, such as regulating intestinal motility, cardiac function, and water balance. Guanylin is structurally similar to arginine vasopressin (AVP) and secretin, which are both mammalian hormones. Guanylin has an inhibitory effect on cyclase activity at high concentrations but stimulates cyclase activity at low concentrations. Guanylin also regulates cyclic GMP levels. The termini of guanylin are homologous with those of other peptide hormones, such as AVP and secretin.
